The Nursery
We have a fully staffed Nursery available during worship hours for infants, newborn through 2 years, 11 months.
It is located downstairs in the Sunday school wing.
If you would like infants and young toddlers to be lovingly cared for while you attend worship, you may drop children off before worship begins, or, if your little one gets fidgety, you are welcome to bring them to the Nursery at any time during the service as well.
Sunday School
takes place during our 9:50 AM Sunday service.
Our Sunday school program uses the "Seasons of the Spirit" Curriculum. This is a Bible based resource connecting worship, learning, and service. "Seasons of the Spirit" follows the Revised Common Lectionary. Our remarkable staff of Sunday school leaders will respectfully guide your children to a better understanding of the Bible stories and lessons using this curriculum and other innovative resources. If you would like to learn more about the curriculum that we use as a resource, please visit www.spiritseasons.com
Our Sunday School Classes are organized in the following way:
Pre-School
Kindergarten
First and Second grade
Third, Fourth, and Fifth grade
Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth grade
(High school students are welcome to join us as assistant leaders.)
Preschool through
8th Grade students
are invited to start off at worship service in the sanctuary. They may come forward and hear the "Children's Message", and then follow the flock to Fellowship Hall, (through the door to the right of the pulpit), where we will share a few moments of Fellowship. From there they will join their grade level teachers and go downstairs to the Sunday School wing. Sunday School ends at the same time as worship parents; please pick up your children at their Sunday School rooms promptly after service ends. You will be asked to sign your child out. This will give the teachers time to clean up and prepare for the next week.
Children are always welcome in the sanctuary as well.

High School Youth
are encouraged to either enjoy the service upstairs or, join our Sunday school as a "Shepherd". This is a wonderful opportunity to participate in the Sunday school program, and help those younger than you at the same time. We would love to have you!
(If you are interested in being a shepherd
but haven't participated yet you can follow the "flock" to Fellowship Hall after the children's sermon, and tell one of the teachers that
you are interested.)
Confirmation Classes
for 9th Graders or above are also available. If you are interested please contact our Interim Pastor, Mark Seifried:

Meg Genoter is our Christian Education Director. "I have been a member of the Townsend Congregational Church for 7 years. I am the mother of two young girls, ages 6 and 4. I grew up in the Congregational Tradition and started teaching Sunday School at age 16. My aim is to create a safe program that teaches TCC's message that no matter who you are or where you are on your faith journey, God loves you."
Each classroom has a rotation of volunteer teachers and shepherds. This gives the students access to many grown-up's views of Christianity. It also gives our volunteers time both in the class room and in worship.
More Questions?
Please call the CE Director, Meg Genoter, at the church office 978-597-8925. She also checks her mail box in the office regularly.
We are always accepting new enrollment to Sunday School!!!! And you are welcome to stop by and attend any time. If you have questions, contact Meg Genoter at genoter@verizon.net
Whenever we are working with childrenm the church follows a Church Safe Policy. Although this is a comprehensive program, the goal is to make sure children are always in a safe environment. Our classes have at least two adults, windows on the doors and other safety measures in place for checks and balances.
